Below I will show some of the basic steps to setting up a multiplayer game on iOS. Please be aware that Android and iOS cannot play against each other.
Another important note is that when you first reach the Basic menu you should automatically be signed in with Game Center. If not please go to the Settings menu and scroll down until you see Game Center, then Sign in or create a new account.
Below is a screenshot of the main menu. From here tap “Basic Game”. If this is the first time tapping it you will be taken through a short tutorial on gameplay.
From the Basic Game menu, select “Host Game”:
You will then be presented with the Game Center multiplayer set up screen:
To start right away with a random player, select Play Now. Otherwise select Invite Friends to invite a specific friend:
Enter your friend’s Game Center player name or select the Plus symbol to see a list of friends:
Please note: due to Apple removing support for most Game Center features, both Contacts and Nearby will not properly be able to be used to set up a multiplayer match.
Once a Friend has been selected, their player name will appear in the search bar as follows:
Now tap the up arrow and you will be presented either with a match that has been started (only if you chose random player) or the stockpile selection screen:
Select the stockpile size you’d like to use for the match and then play and finish your turn to send the game to your opponent.
When you return to the Basic game menu you will now see your game in the list:
When it is your turn the "VIEW" button will change to say "TURN".
