When Apple recently released the iOS 10 update, they removed Game Center. This has impacted how devices feed information to games, like custom usernames, player profile photos, and 2-player multiplayer game customization. This has unfortunately impacted both iOS 10 users and players who haven't yet updated to iOS 10.
We, and many other app developers out there, have reached out to Apple to troubleshoot and fix the problem, and in the meantime we are working to resolve the issue on our end as soon as possible. We will implement a fix with an upcoming update, so please stay tuned!

We're always working on adding new categories, so we will take your feedback to heart and consider it as we move forward. There are a number of ways to earn coins, such as the ad view option (which you mentioned), as well as levelling up, winning daily game matches, ranking on the leaderboard, and achieving personal goals. Hi there! I'm sorry that you've run into this leaderboard issue. Unfortunately this has affected some Scattergories players over the past few days. Thank you to everyone who has submitted a report! We were able to identify and fix the problem, though it unfortunately will not immediately repair your leaderboard. When the next tournament begins (of any type: VIP, Party, Weekend, etc.) you should see your leaderboard in that new tournament as usual.

For those who wish to remove video interstitial ads entirely, there is an option in the store to spent $2.99 USD to disable ads. For those who prefer to play for free, the ads help to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the app.

Hello! Thank you for this feedback. The daily game modes are a good way to earn more coins than you spent on the round: you spent 50, and earn 75 if you win. You can also earn coins by viewing an ad in the store (or tapping the banner to view an ad for coins when it's available), leveling up, placing on the leaderboard or reaching personal goal tiers. We will definitely take your request for additional coin sources into consideration!
Hi all, a quick update to say that we're troubleshooting this issue and hope to get it resolved soon. If anyone is still running into freezing or the app crashing after viewing an ad, please hit "Contact support" on the right and provide any details you can about which ads, specifically, might be causing the problem. Good news! As of the most recent update to Scattergories, you can now dispute auto-corrected words! On your results screen, you'll now see a "dispute" button next to any word that was auto-corrected, whether you received points for it or not. These words will enter our dispute resolution system, to be resolved by our team. We hope this eases the frustration while we work on balancing auto-correct so that it helps with typos but doesn't change your answers entirely. Thanks!
Currently the game uses Facebook to match up friends in the game, but we understand that there are a lot of you out there who prefer to not use Facebook (and not connect to it through the game). Hi there, we hope that you've noticed a wider variety of lists in recent weeks, as we've been adding a TON of content! We've more than doubled the number of categories since launch, and we've added a ton of new themed challenges to add even more variety.
The assignment of letters and categories is completely random, so if you're seeing the same one over and over again, it seems odd but that's the luck of the draw! Hopefully with the new content, you'll start being drawn a wider variety of content soon.
Thank you for your feedback, everyone! Our dispute team works very hard to resolve disputes every day, and we research every submission to ensure its eligibility before accepting or declining it. Here are a few common things that we screen against:
- Answers can not begin with an article: A, An or The (example: The Wizard of Oz is not okay for "T", but Wizard of Oz is okay for "W")
- Answers can not be plural, as then they are actually duplicates of other answers (example: bluebird is acceptable, but bluebirds is not).
- We cannot accept misspelled answers, as they too are duplicates of the correctly-spelled words (example: Keira Knightley is correct, Kiera Knightly is not).
- All answers must be appropriate for an audience beginning at age 4. Any adult/mature content cannot be added.
Most often we'll see disputes where there is a simple typo in the submission, but unfortunately we're not able to accept it. Of course, occasionally a researcher will reject a word that should have been accepted, but we have a fallback just in case that happens: any time that word is disputed again, we'll be able to address it again.

Hi all! We've added a handful of new ways to earn coins since the launch of the game, including:
- Earning back your coins when you win a tournament round
- Earning extra coins when you win a daily game mode match
- Tapping a main menu banner to watch an ad to earn coins
- Bonus coins for leaderboard placements, leveling up, and reaching personal goals
One thing mentioned in this thread is that people haven't received coins for their tournament wins. Just to let everyone know, we send out tournament rewards within 24 hours of the tournament ending, after we've tabulated the results. Keep an eye out for a message in your inbox with your reward the day after the tournament ends.

We're constantly reviewing our content to make sure that eligible entries are included in answer lists, and ineligible entries that made their way in are removed. We're also taking your feedback about having an ability to dispute another player's answer into consideration, and we are exploring ways of providing this feature in a future update! Sorry for the frustration caused by odd responses being included in answer lists: in some cases, it's actually an appropriate response (ie. something that historically was its own country but is now a state), but in other cases it's something that has been included in error and will be removed. Hello again, all! Thanks to your feedback, we've included a new feature: the ability to dispute words that have been auto-corrected to something else. Now, if your word is changed, you will see a "dispute" button next to it on the results screen (even if the auto-corrected word resulted in you receiving points). We receive those disputes and resolve them as part of our regular daily dispute resolution! We hope this will help ease the frustration of the auto-correct system while we continue to balance its strength. Thank you!
Hello everyone! I know it's very frustrating when your entered word has been changed to something completely different. The reason this happens is because our auto-correct system is trying to help, but helping a little too much. We added auto-correct after it was requested by many players, and its purpose is to help eliminate typos. We are working on tweaking the system so that it continues to help with typos but doesn't overhaul your responses. Thank you for your patience while we tackle this work in progress!

This happens because of our auto-correct system: if your answer doesn't match a word that is already on the answer list, before marking it as incorrect, the game tries to match it with a similar item on the list (just in case you've made a typo). Unfortunately the auto-correct system is a little too strong right now, so our team is working on refining it. It should help with typos but it shouldn't overhaul your entries to something else!
We've added a feature that allows you to dispute your auto-corrected word. Keep an eye out for an extra "dispute" button next to any word on your results screen that has been changed.

All purchases are done through an integrated iTunes system so it's done automatically (and usually goes through without issues), but we'll investigate so that you get the coins you purchased!
